Sustainability Through Endurance & Design
In my opinion, sustainability in architecture extends beyond the use of eco-friendly materials or the pursuit of energy efficiency. It also depends on how well a building endures — in its function, relevance, and connection to its context. Buildings that are thoughtfully designed, adaptable, and genuinely valued by their users are more likely to be maintained and preserved, forming the basis of long-term sustainability.
I also believe that integrating public art and meaningful design elements can strengthen the relationship between people and their built environment. When individuals feel a sense of ownership and attachment, they naturally contribute to the building’s care and continuity
over time.
Therefore, designing buildings that are not only environmentally responsible but also visually and functionally appealing ensures they remain relevant and valued by society, embodying true sustainability.
